The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Wednesday, December 30, in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Fitchburg at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 29, from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1300 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
OBITUARY
Leominster – William S. Michaels, 89, of Leominster passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2015.
William was born in Fitchburg on November 13, 1926, a son of the late Stath and Eva Michaels. He graduated from Fitchburg High School and later received his Master’s in Education from Fitchburg State College. William was a dedicated High School Teacher, beginning his career at Littleton High School. He then began teaching Mechanical Drawing at Fitchburg High School until his retirement. William was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, who loved spending time with his family. William was a member of the Garden Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed vacationing during the summer on Cape Cod.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Katherine (Spylios) Michaels; son, Stephen Michaels; daughter, Denise Lamkin; brother, Peter Michaels and wife Priscilla, all of Leominster; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, William was predeceased by his sister Angela Nikitas.
