At Wayne’s request, funeral services and burial will be private. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is directing arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
OBITUARY
Leominster – Wayne Aho, 78, of Leominster, passed away Friday, May 29, in his home.
Wayne was born in Worcester on December 11, 1936, a son of the late Hugo and Mae (Brooks) Aho. He graduated from North High School in Worcester in 1954. Wayne later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fitchburg University in 1977. He was employed by New England Power and Mass Electric, which has become National Grid. He retired as a Meter Reader Supervisor after 30 years.
Wayne enjoyed fishing, walking, reading, and vacationing in Sarasota, FL during the winter months. He loved Sunday meals with his family, which often included his favorite Italian cooking and desserts.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Mary (Morizzo) Aho of Leominster; children, Anthony Aho and wife Paige of Madison, NH, Michael Aho of New York City, Nancy Aho Dix and husband Wayne of Worcester, Heidi O’Leary of Auburn, and Wayne J. Aho, Jr. and wife Pamela of Holden; four grandchildren; brother, Paul Aho of OR; two sisters, Andrea Dutton of IL and Linda Gilligan of MO; sister in law, Elena Valeri of Fitchburg; brother in law, Willy Morizzo of Fitchburg; many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was predeceased by his sister Winifred Wilson and his brother Hugo Aho.
