OBITUARY
Princeton – Vanessa Teresa Marcotte, aged 27, of Princeton, MA and New York City, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016.
Vanessa was born on June 17, 1989 in Leominster, MA, the beloved daughter of John Marcotte and Rossana (Campagna) Marcotte.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Francis Marcotte and her maternal grandparents, Rolando and Teresa Campagna. In addition, she leaves behind her loving grandmother Madeleine “Bonnie” Marcotte and her dear aunts and uncles, Steven “Unc” and Diega “Auntie” Therrien, who loved her like the daughter they never had, Frank and Nicky Marcotte and Nick Campagna. She also leaves behind her first cousins Michelle Brookins, Timothy Campagna and Gary Campagna. She was beloved by her great aunts and uncles Osvaldo and Ida Ferzoco, Teo and Edda Vittorioso, and Rivelo and Joyce Campagna. She is also survived by her many loving second cousins, especially Anna and Richard Tocci and their daughters, Elizabeth, Leslie, and Caroline, with whom she spent many happy summers on Cape Cod. Vanessa also leaves behind many, many dear friends who she met through school and work.
Vanessa attended Julie Country Day School in Leominster, Bancroft School in Worcester and graduated Cum Laude from Boston University College of Communications in 2011. She began her professional career at Wordstream, later moving to Vistaprint and, in January 2015, starting her “dream job” at Google in New York City where she worked as an account manager. Vanessa had a great sense of style and was happy to give advice to her mother and aunt, cousins, and friends. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and skiing with her dad, and last year enjoyed a wonderful trip to Barbados with him. Her many passions include yoga and running, participating several times in the Falmouth Road Race and the Brewster Brew Run. Vanessa loved the ocean and the beach, especially the beaches in Brewster that she called her “happy place.”
Vanessa was a great believer in volunteerism, participating as a tutor for Tutoring Plus of Cambridge, MA, where she was named “Tutor of the Year” and Harlem Grown in NYC. Vanessa embodied everything that is good in a human being. She was kind, compassionate, bright, curious, charming, and vivacious. She was blessed with beauty, grace, a generous spirit, and a loving heart.
“May her memory always be for a blessing…”
