It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Thomas W. Vaillette, better known as Tom, who left us on December 14, 2023. Born on October 19, 1942, in Leominster, Massachusetts, Tom was a beacon of adventurous spirit, creative wit, and courageous determination. He was a loving husband to Karen, a devoted father to Greta and David, and a doting grandfather to Lilith. He is also survived by his brothers Richard and Harry, and sister-in-law, Sheryl. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Louise, and sister, Doreen Rhinehard.
Tom was a master electrician, retiring in 2007 from the Fitchburg Water Department after owning his own electrical contractor business. His courageous spirit was evident in his professional life, where he thrived in his career, and personal life, which saw him lose 100 pounds.
His zest for life extended beyond his work, as he was an active member of the Stratton Players, the Exchange Club, and the Electrical Contractors Association. He also served as the Exchange Club President. His wit and charm were ever-present, whether he was on stage performing or cooking a meal for his family, a pastime he used to express his love for those around him. As the saying goes, "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear," Tom chose to venture into unknown territories, taking the stage for the first time after retirement, showcasing his adventurous and creative spirit.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 4:00 pm at the Brandon Funeral Home located at 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, 01420. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 6:00 pm.
Tom's legacy of love, courage, and adventure will continue to inspire and live within us. We invite you to share your favorite memories and photos of Thomas Vaillette on his memorial page.
