Thomas P. Espie, 66, of Fitchburg, passed away Sunday, February 8, in the Highlands, after an illness.
Thomas was born in Fitchburg on January 8, 1949, a son of the late George and Marion (Parkhurst) Espie. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1967, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Fitchburg State College in 1971.
For 35 years, Thomas was a Math teacher at Monty Tech High School. He thoroughly enjoyed his job, and loved being able to educate his many students. A lifelong resident of the city, he was always very fond of West Fitchburg. Thomas was a member of the British American Club. For over 20 years, he also worked in the Automotive Department for Sears.
Thomas leaves his wife, Donna (Rutkowski) Espie of Fitchburg; his children, Erin Underhill and her husband, Peter of Worcester, and Ian Espie of Fitchburg; two grandchildren, Rose and William Underhill. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Espie, and his sister, Janet McDonald.
