Theresa M. Robichaud Giammalvo

The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 2, from the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg with a Mass in Saint Joseph Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 1, from 5-8 pm in the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Life Care Center of Leominster Activity Fund, 370 West St. Leominster, MA 01453



OBITUARY

Fitchburg – Theresa M. (Giammalvo) Robichaud, 92, peacefully passed away Monday, May 30th, in the Life Care Center of Leominster.

Theresa was born in Fitchburg on March 30, 1924, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Crocifissa Spagnola Giammalvo. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1942, where she played on the girl’s basketball team. She worked at her father’s store, Pete’s Shoe Shine, where they would sell carnations every year on Mother’s Day. She was an active member at the Sarita Hope Dufour Center, where she would aid with physical therapy.

Theresa was a former member of the Madonna of the Holy Rosary Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Italian Society. She was also a parishioner of Saint Anthony’s Church in Fitchburg. She loved crafts, especially knitting and crocheting, and was active in many craft circles, making complicated, stitched afghans for family and friends. Theresa was a skilled cook, who loved reading all types of cookbooks, especially Italian cookbooks. She faithfully kept up the tradition of Thursday spaghetti nights for her family. Her pride and joy were her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She leaves her two sons Kenneth Robichaud and his wife Lori Martin of Swanzey, New Hampshire, and Thomas Robichaud and his long time companion Helen Lenart of Westford, Mass; grandchildren, Amy Beaulac, Brian Robichaud, Lisa Comeau, and Tina Gendron; 9 great grandchildren; sisters in law, Rose Giammalvo of Fitchburg, and Evelyn Giammalvo of Gardner; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Robichaud Sr., who passed away in 2003. They celebrated 52 years of marriage. Also predeceased by her two brothers, Nick and Peter Giammalvo.
