Calling hours will be held from 4-8 with a prayer service at 7:30 on Friday, May 12 at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. Burial will be private.
Leominster- Theodore J. “Ted” Ferdinand, 89 passed away on Friday, May 5 at his residence.
Mr. Ferdinand was born on July 13, 1927 in Cambridge. Son of the late John and Mary (Costa) Ferdinand, he had resided in Leominster for the past seventeen years. Prior to that he and his family lived in Somerville for thirty eight years.
Ted is survived by his three sons, Theodore Ferdinand Jr. and his wife Cathy of Auburn, IND, Robert Ferdinand and his wife Denise of Dracut, Edward Ferdinand of Medford, as well as three daughters, Stella Marifiote and her husband John of Leominster, Phyllis Scurio and her husband John of Leominster, Rosemary Lyons and her husband Edward of Norfolk, one brother, Manny Ferdinand and his wife Sarah of Wakefield, twenty two grandchildren and forty four great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ferdinand is predeceased by his wife, Phyllis I. (Edmunds) Ferdinand who passed away in 2010, his daughter, Suzanne (Ferdinand) Sullivan who passed away in 2015 as well as nine brothers and sisters.
Ted worked for twenty years at the Registry of Motor Vehicles and prior to that at Simplex Wire and Cable in Cambridge. He and his wife formerly owned and operated Phyllis and Ted’s Luncheonette in Davis Square, Somerville for 10 years.
Mr. Ferdinand was a passionate Boston Sports fan and also enjoyed fishing, cards, bowling, bocce. Most of all Ted enjoyed spending his time with his family. Ted also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the mall.
