Somchay Sivilaythong, 75, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on May 29, 2022 . He will lovingly be remembered by his daughter Marry as well as his sisters Boualie, Khampeng, Khaitong, Somsang, Gongpang, and Khamphachanh, all residing in Laos.

Somchay was born on May 7, 1947 in Hatsaikhoune, Laos. He was a Sergeant in the Royal Lao Government during the Vietnam War when his country was overtaken by communists.  Fearing for his life, he fled his homeland to seek refuge in America.

He met the love of his life, Khambong in New Orleans, Louisiana. Together, they raised their son, Andy, who shared the same goofy humor as he did. They had a daughter, Marry, who he cherished for her kind, gentle nature.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 5-7 pm at Brandon Funeral Home. His funeral procession will leave Brandon Funeral Home at 12 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 and conclude at Rural Cremation Service. Traditional Laotian ceremony will be held the following day on Thursday, June 9th at Wat Lao Dhammaram Buddhist Temple.
