A calling hour will be held on Friday, February 24, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
FITCHBURG – Sixto B. Zapata-Camilo, 62 of Fitchburg passed away at home on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on January 19, 1961 the son of Sixto De Jesus Zapata Torres and Maria De Los Angels de Zapata Camilo.
Sixto worked in different refineries throughout the southern states. He served the military through the Navy Dominican.
He leaves his sons Sixto Zapata Mateo and Sixto De Jesus Zapata Mateo both of Fitchburg, and Jaun de Dios Zapata Duran of Italy; his daughters, Sarah B. Zapata of Louisiana, Maria De Los Angels Zapata of New York, Clara Bianca Zapata Duran of Italy and Laura Yessica Zapata Garcia of the Dominican Republic; his sisters Sundar D. Zapata Camilo of Louisiana, Iries Zapata Camilo of Massachusetts, and Candida R. Zapata Camilo of Louisiana; 17 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Friday, February 24, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend.
Burial will be private.
