Shirley A. Pothier Moriarty

July 22, 1936 — September 23, 2017

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 27 at 11:00 in St. Cecilia’s Church, 170 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg are assisting the family with arrangements.



 

 

Leominster- Shirley A. (Moriarty) Pothier, 81 passed away on Saturday, September 23 at The Highlands in Fitchburg.

Ms. Pothier was born on July 22, 1936 in Winchendon, a daughter of the late Eugene and Alice (Ross) Moriarty and had resided in Leominster for many years.

She is survived by three sons, Paul J. Pothier Jr. and his wife Pamela, Robert Pothier and his wife Debra, Stephen Pothier, two daughters, Lynne Larkin, Patricia Whitney and her husband James, grandchildren, Stephen Sidilau, Melissa Scipione and her husband Alex, Jennifer Pothier, Hannah Pothier, Nicole Whitney, Jordan Whitney, Ciara Whitney, Jamie Whitney, Ashley Pothier, Zoley Pothier, Zamora Pothier, Zariha Pothier, three great grandchildren, one brother, Kevin Moriarty, three sisters, Nancy Brosseau, Paula Moriarty, Colleen Boivin, her longtime friend Ralph Tracy and her former husband and father of her children, Paul J. Pothier Sr.

She is predeceased by her brother, Lawrence (Sonny) Moriarty and her sister, Doris LaFluer.

Ms. Pothier worked at the Millipore Corporation in Bedford for twenty years.

She was a graduate of St. Bernard’s High School Class of 1954.

She belonged to three genealogy clubs which was her extended hobby since 1998. Libraries around New England were her favorite spots to visit.
