A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 3:30pm at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. A visitation period will be from 2:00-3:30 prior to the service. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
Fitchburg- Sharon B. (Ballou) Makes, 69 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 27 after a long battle with cancer.
Ms. Makes was born on February 12, 1949 in Worcester a daughter of Ralph and Josephine Carpenter Ballou.
She is survived by her son, Lucas Makes, and his wife, Debbie Osborne, of Fitchburg; daughter, Jessie Ruzbasan. and her husband, Joe, of Canton, CT.; three grandchildren, Marley Makes, Jacob Lawrence Madison Makes, and Kyle Wilhelm; seven step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; two nieces, Laura Gabriel and her husband Ron of Fitchburg, and Susan O’Neill and her partner Ron Goguen of Ashburnham; a great niece, Samantha Murray, and her children, Laila and Domenic of Ashburnham; her former husband, Michael Makes, of Pittsfield; and her longtime friend, Mike LaFosse, of Fitchburg.
She is predeceased by her sister, Alice “Sheila” Ballou.
Ms. Makes had most recently been employed at Hannaford Market in Leominster, where she loved to interact with her coworkers and her customers. She had a contagious smile and caring heart, and would frequently go out of her way to do things for others. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, spending time in nature, being with family, vacationing in Bartlett, NH, and cheering on her Red Sox.
