Sandra A. “Sandy” (Fava) Goodchild, 77, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022. Sandy was born in Fitchburg on June 2, 1944, a daughter of the late George and Celestina (Ballarin) Fava. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1962 and later from Becker Junior College. Sandy spent the majority of her career working for Leominster Hospital in the billing department. After retiring, she worked in the Fitchburg public school system as a teacher’s aide for several years. Sandy was very active in Saint Bernard’s Parish and volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James J. Goodchild of Fitchburg; her daughter Michelle A. Goodchild of Fitchburg; her son Mark C. Goodchild, his wife Suzette C. Goodchild and their sons Collin J. and Colby M. Goodchild of Reading; her brother Ronald G. Fava and his deceased wife Marilyn M. Fava of Fitchburg; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
