Samantha L. Butler

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Samantha Lynn Butler, affectionately known as "Mantha" or "Sam," who left us too soon on September 6, 2023. Born in Leominster, MA on November 29, 1991, Samantha was a beacon of compassion, humor, generosity, and love. Her vivacity for life was contagious, and she could always be counted on to bring a smile to anyone's face. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Samantha embodied this beautiful sentiment, and it was felt by all who were blessed to know her.

Samantha's passion for helping children led her to a fulfilling career as a Special Ed Teacher Assistant at The Deveraux Care School in Fitchburg and St. Matthews Church in Acton. She found joy in every aspect of her work, but it was the children she worked with who truly lit up her life. In her spare time, Samantha loved attending concerts with her mother, Donna, working out at the gym, and spending quality time with her best friend, Kim Hyvarinen. She also cherished her three cats, Fidget, Laila, and Oreo, and loved vacationing at the beach with her family. Samantha was also active in her community, sharing her generosity and spirit by volunteering with the Girl Scout Association and Ginny's Helping Hands during holiday seasons.

Samantha is survived by her loving parents, Donna and John Butler, her brothers, Jacob Butler and Chad Marcoux, her niece Rylie Marcoux and her Aunt, Lisa Cudak. She was preceded in death by her adored grandparents, Beverly and David Chase, and her Uncle, Robert Cudak. “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die," wrote Thomas Campbell. Samantha's spirit, love and laughter live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Samantha for a period of visitation on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA from 4:00 PM to 8:00PM. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 10:30am. Burial will be private.
