Rose Marie (Piccicutto) Morin
Rose Marie Morin (Piccicutto), 97, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, passed away on April 24, 2024. She was born on August 1, 1926, in Fitchburg, the beloved daughter of Rosario (Sam) and Giovannina (Colasberna) Piccicutto, both of whom predeceased her. Rose was the wife of the late Francis Donald (Pete) Morin, who passed away on November 23, 2008.
Growing up in a close-knit family, Rose was the sixth of eight children. She cherished her Italian roots and spent her entire life in Fitchburg. Rose graduated from St. Bernard High School in 1944 and went on to work at Fitchburg Engineering and Tonkin Paper Co until her retirement. She fondly referred to herself as an "office girl."
In her youth, Rose enjoyed dancing, golfing, home decorating, and gatherings with her “club girls”. She was an active member of Redemption Rock Church and earlier years a member of Westminster Golf Course. Despite her petite stature, Rose had a vibrant personality that left a lasting impression. Her impeccable style, makeup, hair and perfectly manicured nails were her signature.
She could keep up with the youngest person in the room, and was most often mistaken as being twenty years younger than her actual age.
Rose was up every morning with the birds, and loved being an “early bird”, she was never a minute late for anything. She maintained close connections with her sister Eleanor and cousin Stella through daily phone calls. If ever you showed her any kindness, you were instantly her angel, or your act of kindness was “like a million bucks” or “to die for”. There was so much personality in this small package! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Rose leaves two children, her son Rev. Thomas Morin (Maureen) of Princeton, and her daughter Jeannie Morin of Westminster. Grandchildren Tonya Jarrett (Rev.Anthony) of Lunenburg, Rev. Nicholas Morin (Krystal) of Rindge, N.H, Hannah Morin of Gardner, Abigail Rodriguez (Andres) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Brittany Romero (Mathias) of Westminster, and Nicole Gauvin of Fitchburg.
Rose also leaves seventeen great-grandchildren, Xavier & Jonathan Morin, Madyson, Morgan & Manaseh Jarrett, Lanah, Olivia, Keenan & Ella Morin, Josiah & Caleb Tinich, Grace Beach, Aubreanna Morin, Andres, Eli, & Eliana Rodriguez, Sofia Romero. One great-great-grandson Ezekiel Tinich. Rose leaves one sister Eleanor Lanzilotti and numerous nieces and nephews whose tight bond was created at “High Hopes” their family summer camp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Pete” Morin, her grandson Jonathan T. Morin, and her siblings: Jenny Ingemie-Gallant, Mary (Bella) Harding, Sofia DiPaoli, Jeannette Morin, Rocco Piccicutto, and Angelo Piccicutto.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Baldwinville Nursing Home for their compassionate care of Rose.
