The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd.,Fitchburg on Saturday, November 12, with a Mass in Saint Anthony di Padua Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. A callinghour will be held in the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30am. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made toSaint Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg MA 01420.
OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Rose M. (Cali) Champa, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on
November 9, in Leominster Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Rose
was born in Fitchburg on September 15, 1917, a daughter of the late
Sebastian and Maria (Rampulla) Cali. Until her retirement in 1990, Rose
worked at Champa Insurance & Real Estate with her sister Jennie as an
Insurance Administrator.
Rose held a special place in so many people’s hearts. She always knew how to
make everyone feel loved and welcome, whether you were her family, friend,
or a complete stranger. As the matriarch of the family, her greatest joy was
to bring her loved ones together for Sunday dinners and holidays.
Rose was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Saint Anthony di
Padua Church. She had a flourishing social life, and always enjoyed visiting
with her many friends and family.
She leaves her two sons, Michael S. Champa and his wife Trisha of Leominster
and Steven M. Champa and his wife Laura of Fitchburg; grandchildren,
Michael, Stephanie and her husband Alex Dwyer, Brittany, Maria, and Hannah
Champa; brother, Anthony “Duke” Cali and his wife Greta her lifelong friend
of Fitchburg; sister, Nina Amico of Fitchburg, and many nieces and nephews,
who were very special to her. Rose also leaves many very close friends. She
was predeceased by her husband Michael Champa in 2013, and her siblings;
Leon Cali, Jennie Champa, Celia Cali, and Maria Cali.
