The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Monday, August 28, 2017 with a Mass in Saint Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. OBITUARY
Rose E. (Lunetta) Walsh, 93, of Fitchburg, passed away suddenly on August 24, 2017 in Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Rose was born in Fitchburg on October 12, 1923, a daughter of the late John and Angela (Merlo) Lunetta. She worked for her family dry cleaners and also as a sewing teacher for the City of Fitchburg. Nothing was more important to Rose than her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking and was also very talented at knitting and sewing, which brought her much joy. Rose was a true matriarch and the last of her generation on both sides of her family; her stories will be dearly missed.
She leaves her daughter Joan Walsh Freedman and her husband Richard of Yarmouth, MA; two granddaughters, Andrea Alessandro and her husband Todd of Worcester, and Melissa Bosco of Leominster; three great grandchildren, Mario and Santino Bosco, and Juliet Alessandro. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her brother Charles Lunetta and wife Natalie, as well as her sisters, Theresa Wiitala and husband William, Jackie Decker and husband Carl, Jennie Fallon and husband Roy, Eleanor Girouard and husband Arthur, Ida Tiernan and husband Paul, and Norma McAneany and husband David.
