Rosalie L. Vowles, affectionately known as "Leaping Lena," was born on June 6, 1924, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her life was a vivid tapestry woven with love, commitment, and a resolute spirit that touched everyone around her. A compassionate soul, Rosalie's joy was making everyone around her happy. Her warmth enveloped everyone she met, making the world a little brighter with her presence. Her love for life was infectious, and her supportive nature made her a pillar of strength for her family and friends.

A talented homemaker, Rosalie channeled her creativity into her cooking, where she crafted meals that were both a feast for the eyes and a delight for the palate. Her home was always filled with the delicious aroma of her culinary masterpieces, adding a touch of warmth and comfort to her loving household. Dancing was another passion of Rosalie's; she moved with a grace and rhythm that was captivating. She was also known for her trips to the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill and excitement of the games. Her spirit was as vibrant as her personality, and she lived her life with a zest that was truly inspiring.

Rosalie was a beloved mother to her son, Joseph Vowles, and a cherished sister to Robert Smith and Mary Costa. She was also the proud grandmother of Aaron Vowles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Vowles, her parents, Joseph and Alfrenda Smith, her brothers, William, Joseph, and Francis Smith, her sisters, Ruthann Coute, Clarice Lawrence, and Theresa Ferris, and her granddaughter, Ashley Vowles. Rosalie's legacy will continue to live on through her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A service to celebrate Rosalie's life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 11:30 am at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 487 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, 01420. We invite all who knew Rosalie to attend and commemorate her remarkable life.
