Ronald John Whipple, 78, of Lunenburg MA passed away at home on September 11, 2022.
Ronald was born in Boston, MA. He grew up one of five children of Herbert and Florence Whipple. He attended Boston Trade High School.
Ronald began his career as a plumber, and later became a pipe fitter for the Boston & Maine Railroad and Amtrak. This inspired his lifelong love of trains. Ronald was an avid sports fan, softball especially. He loved watching his daughter play through the years which led to more years of watching, coaching, and following the sport. He was also a diehard New England sports fan. He often requested not to be bothered on Sundays when the Patriots played. He read multiple newspapers daily until his death and was also a history buff.
Ronald is predeceased by his parents, a brother Herbert Whipple and a sister Joan Chisolm. He leaves behind two brothers, Robert Whipple of Kentucky and David Whipple of Florida as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Jennifer Gendron (and her husband David) of Lunenburg, MA, and Wendy Wallace (and her husband Gary) of Worcester, MA. His life began again when he became a grandfather. He adored his four grandchildren, Brayden and Shea Gendron, and Colin and Meghan Donnelly. He also leaves behind his ex-wife, Janet Whipple, to whom he was married for decades.
