Gardner- Robert W. Jones Sr., 79 died peacefully Wednesday December 28 at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home. Robert was born on July 3, 1937 a son of the late William J. and Lillian (Brewster) Jones and had resided in the local area and Fortuna, CA.. He is survived by two sons, Robert W. Jones Jr. and his husband Austin Vance of East Ridge TN, Michael Jones and his wife Charlotte of East Troy WI, one daughter, Lynnette Bilodeau and her husband James of Gardner MA , two brothers, Bernard Jones and his wife Patricia of Castleton VT, John Jones and his wife Patricia of Rutland VT, seven grandchildren, Ashley Miller and her husband Kenneth, James Bilodeau, Kaitlynne Bilodeau, Daniel Bilodeau, Naomi Jones, Zechariah Jones and Jonathan Jones, one great grandchild Mckenna Miller.  He is also survived by his first wife Jacqueline (Thivierge ) Jones of South Lancaster MA. Mr. Jones is predeceased by his second wife Elva Ogle Jones, and  a sister Evelyn Jones. Bob attended Rutland High School and and then graduated from South Lancaster Academy. He graduated from the New England Institute for Applied Arts and Sciences Funeral School in Boston. Mr. Jones managed  the former Feraco Funeral Home in Leominster.  He also worked as a trade embalmer for many funeral homes in the local area. Bob then moved to California  in 1985 and worked in the funeral industry, returning to MA in 2011. Mr. Jones attended the Gardner Seventh Day Adventist church, and was involved in many aspects of the church community.  He held a private pilots license in years past. Robert was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1959-65, and always spoke fondly of his time stationed in Puerto Rico.
