A funeral service will be at the Rollstone Congregational Church, 199 Main St., Fitchburg at 10:00, Wednesday, March 29. Burial will be in the Forrest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg.

Calling hours are from 5-8 Tuesday, March 28 at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg.



Fitchburg- Robert “Bob” W. Aveyard, 84 passed away on Sunday, March 26 at the Sterling Village Nursing Facility.

Bob was born on June 21, 1932 in Fitchburg a son of the late William and Dorothy (Trull) Aveyard and has resided in Fitchburg his entire life.

Bob is survived by three daughters, Debbie Cormier and her husband Al of Fitchburg, Donna Cormier of Leominster, Joanne Belli and her husband Paul of Fitchburg, six grandchildren, Shaun Cormier, Chris Cormier, Nicholas Cormier, Joshua Belli and his wife Amy, Justin Belli, Jennifer Belli, one brother, Jack Aveyard of Fitchburg, one sister, Joan Caron of Fitchburg.

Bob is predeceased by his wife, Ann (Gray) Aveyard who died in 1989, two sons in law, Peter Fallon who died in 2002, Dennis Cormier who died in 2016 and his long time companion, Norma McAneany who died in 2015.

He served his country in the US Army.

Bob was employed for over forty years as a dye maker at Rand-Whitney in Leominster.

He was a member of the Eastwood Club in Fitchburg and was an avid card player enjoying cribbage and pitch. He also took many cruises.

Known as “Papa” his greatest enjoyment were his grandchildren. He was a beloved father who was kind, sweet and never complained.
