A Funeral Home Service will be held Tuesday at 10 am. Robert will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster, MA.
Robert J. Castle, 77. Of Leominster, formerly resided in Fitchburg, and was born and raised in Somerville, passed away on June 1, 2021. Robert was born November 15, 1943, the eldest child of Frederick Castle and Anna (Connarton) Castle.
Robert leaves his beloved wife of 52 years Joanne M. (Doyle) Castle of Leominster.
Cherished father of Pamela Pawson of Fitchburg, Lynne Day of Leominster, Steven Castle of Athol.
Predeceased brother William J. Castle. Survived by one brother Frederick A. Castle and wife Anna Castle of Somerville. Survived by one nephew Jason Castle and his wife Monica Castle.
Loving grandfather to 7 grandchildren: Brandon Day, Matthew and Michael Pawson, Emily and Joseph Castle, Alicia and Craig Evans. He also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Kameron Day.
Robert leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Robert was formerly employed by Polaroid Corporation in Waltham, MA. Thereafter, during his retirement, he worked part-time for Dee Bus Service, Inc. in Shirley, MA where he was known as “Mr. Bob” and decorated his van for every holiday.
He loved his family and grandchildren more than life itself. Robert tried to make every holiday special. He loved to see the joy of his grandchildren opening gifts from under the Christmas tree. Robert was known to offer words of encouragement and was especially proud of the many accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his family and grandchildren.
