Robert E. Wotton
Loving Father and Grandfather
Fitchburg: Robert E. Wotton, 89, of Fitchburg passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Health Alliance. Robert was born on September 28, 1925, in North Chelmsford, the son of the late James and Ethel (Bliss) Wotton.
Growing up on a farm instilled in him a lifelong ethic of hard work and love of family, which he passed down to three generations.
On January 21, 1948 Bob married the love of his life Priscilla Marie Pelland and they began what was to be 70 years of togetherness and family building.
Bob enjoyed his summers in Maine and winters in Florida and especially loved his trips to Pittsburg, NH to look at moose and wild life with his wife, Priscilla. Bob was frequently seen at his children and grandchildren’s sporting events displaying his love and passion for sports. He adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all his heart. He will be greatly missed.
Bob’s career included working in the construction field. He worked for the City of Fitchburg (Public Works Dept). He then went into sales working for Penn Culvert of Malden, MA, Tri Mount of Everett, MA, and retired from All States Asphalt, of Sunderland, MA.
He leaves his two children Gail Cheries of Fitchburg, Robert Wotton and wife Joan of Westminster; grandchildren Keith Cheries and wife Angela, Marci Cheries-Roy, Lindsay (Wotton) and her husband Kevin Moran, Kalene (Wotton) and her husband Jeremy Brown, and Robert Wotton, Jr.; great-grandchildren Erica Cheries, Avrie and Brayden Roy, Sydney Moran, Desmond, Nora, and Kellen Brown, and Kaylynn Wotton.
Bob was predeceased by his wife, Priscilla, who died December 10, 2012, his sister Ellen Till and Lida LeBouf, and his son-in-law, Daniel Cheries, Jr.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the French Connection for their wonderful care, especially Carmen and Diane.
