Townsend- Robert Edwin Leahy, 89 died Sunday, July 18, 2021.
Born November 26, 1931 to Frank E. Leahy and Alice (LaFountain) Leahy.
Robert “Bob” served 4 years in the Navy on the USS Midway. He worked as a Garage Foreman for Verizon for 42 years. He was a great basketball player in his youth, loved riding his hackney ponies, could fix anything, loved his antique cars, being in the garage restoring them and going to car shows with his wife Martha, loved the Celtics, being Irish, loved his children and his grandchildren were the sparkle in his eye. He was a great joker and made everyone laugh. He loved going out for breakfast and cracking jokes. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves his partner, Marilyn Wargo of Manchester, NH. his sister, Joan Blanchard of West Townsend, his daughter, Denise Leahy Mann of Baldwinville and partner Dennis Boisoneault, his son, John Leahy and wife, Lola Leahy of Townsend, his grandson, Alan Mann and fiancé, Maddy Edwards of Standish, Maine, his granddaughter, Nisa Christie and husband, Jason Christie of West Yarmouth, his granddaughter, Shannon Leahy of Boston, several great nephews, great nieces, nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Martha (Farrar) Leahy and his siblings, his brother, John Leahy who served in WWII, his sister, Frances Araujo and his sister, Louise Marshall.
