The funeral will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Saturday, October 7, at 11:00am. Burial will follow in South Cemetery in Lunenburg. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11am on Saturday.In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology Clinic at Tufts Floating Hospital for Children, 800 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111 in memory of Mark Pichnarcik or left at the funeral home.
Lunenburg – Rita M. (McGee) Sheldon, 73, of Lunenburg, died peacefully Saturday, September 30th, surrounded by her family at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley after an illness.
Rita was born on November 27, 1943, in Proctor, VT, to Leo and Mary (Greeno) McGee. She graduated from Pittsford High School and had worked for the Deluxe Corp, formerly NEBS for many years, before retiring due to an illness.
She is survived by her son Michael Sheldon and his girlfriend Sherry Ford, and her son Matthew Ford of Leominster; her daughter Patricia Pichnarcik and husband Jack of Lunenburg; grandchildren, Carolann Pichnarcik and Michael Sheldon, Jr, and her dog Snoopy. Rita is also survived by her siblings Anne Ladue and Donald McGee; sisters in law, Charlotte McGee, Connie McGee, Suzanne Loyzelle, Lynn Dipietro, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband James Sheldon in 2013, her grandson Mark Pichnarcik in 2007, brothers Jerry, David, and Walt McGee, as well as her brothers in law, Bill Ladue and Thomas Loyzelle.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley for their wonderful care; and the deepest heartfelt thank you to Rita’s close friends, Pat Morin and Dotty Harris for their loving care and friendship.
