The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd, Fitchburg on Friday, October 14, with a Mass in St. Cecilia’s Church, Leominster at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 13, from 5-8pm in the funeral home.



Rita Leger 88 Fitchburg – A spectacular celebration with magnificent fanfare occurred in Heaven on October 9th 2016.  With kings, royals and the Most High in attendance, Rita Leger, of Fitchburg, born on St Patrick’s day 1928 in Cote Ste Ann de Kent, entered into the presence of her Lord, and was ceremoniously crowned as promised in the Word of God. Witnesses to the Heavenly Event included Rita’s loving husband Emile and son Albert; and countless family members and friends from many generations, all of whom had accepted the call to serve for our Creator on Earth. Rita was the daughter of the late Albert and Regina (Boucher) Richard of Cote de Ste Anne de Kent, New Brunswick, Canada. Rita touched countless lives on Earth and leaves a Living Legacy including children: John Leger of Fitchburg MA; Richard Leger and his wife Sandra of Laguna Beach, CA; Rose Leger Feldman of Lunenburg MA; and Diane Roy and her husband Michael of Fitchburg MA.  Grandchildren: Marie Roy; Starla Leger Feldman and Richard Leger Jr.  Siblings: Cecile Daigle and Bernard Richard, both of New Brunswick Canada; and many more loving family members, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Emile J. Leger; her son, Albert Leger; her sister, Marie Richard and brothers Gerard Richard and Joseph Richard.
