It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Rita C. Dupuis, a woman with a heart of boundless love and a spirit of unwavering resilience. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on December 26, 1943, Rita's life was a testament to humility and courage, and she left this world on December 21, 2024, just shy of her 81st birthday. Her life was a rich tapestry of cherished moments, woven together by her love for family and friends, her passion for community, and her knack for bringing joy to those around her.
Rita was the compassionate lifeblood of her family and community, always ready with a comforting word or a reassuring "it's alright" or "it's fine" to anyone in need. She was the first to remember birthdays and anniversaries, often serenading loved ones over the phone with a heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday" or "Happy Anniversary". Rita found her greatest joy as a Memere and later, a Great Memere, and her strength after the passing of her husband, Henry, was awe-inspiring.
Rita was a vibrant part of the Joseph House community, where she ran Bingo every Friday and enjoyed daily card games with her friends. Her hobbies were piecing together puzzles, sharing messages with loved ones on Facebook, facetiming family, playing with her cat Dusty, and catching up on her favorite cop shows. Despite the humbleness of these hobbies, Rita found relaxation in the simple pleasures of life.
Rita leaves behind her children, Brenda (Steven) Chyra, and Kenneth (Laura) Dupuis; her grandchildren, Zachary (Jessica) Chyra, Andrew (Kelsey) Chyra, Justin Chyra, Corey Dupuis, Tyler (Catherine) Dupuis, and Alyssa Dupuis; great-grandchildren Elliott and Margot Chyra; her brothers, Donald (JoAnn) Testa, Richard Testa, and James Testa; and her sister, Linda (Michael) Hebert. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene Testa, her husband, Henry Dupuis, and her siblings, Anita Babineau, John Testa, Robert Testa, Arthur Testa, Albert Testa, and Patricia Testa.
