OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Richard B. “Dick” Trudel, 73, of Fitchburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, at home of Myelodysplastic Syndrome surrounded by his family.
Dick was born in Lowell on April 24, 1941, a son of the late Edgar and Mary (Carney) Trudel. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1958, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Nichols College in Dudley, MA. After graduating, Dick began his career with IBM in the Sales Department of the Office Product Division. He remained with IBM for 17 years. After his employment with IBM, he joined Wang Direct as Manager of the Telemarketing Division of Wang Labs, eventually becoming Director of that division. In 2003, Dick retired as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing from Quad Tech, Inc. in Maynard. Throughout his career, Dick enjoyed developing and working with the younger generation. He was a true mentor and hoped that his guidance and teachings would inspire the youth of these companies to grow to their fullest potential.
Dick was a devoted family man with an effervescent personality. He truly adored his two grandchildren just as much as they adored him. He was a proud member of AA, where he not only received his thirty year coin, but forged many friendships that he held very dear.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Doctors and Staff of the Simonds Sinon Cancer Center in Fitchburg, as well as the Health Alliance Hospice Staff for their loving care and support.
Dick is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lynn (Tocci) Trudel of Fitchburg; children, Brian Trudel of Fitchburg, and Nicole Churchill and her husband John of Carlisle; beloved grandchildren, Trinity and Bodhi Churchill; siblings, Carroll Picucci, Colleen Trainor, Robert Trudel and his wife Angela, and Bonnie Brown, all of Leominster.
