Richard D. Smith

Richard D. Smith, age 65, and a resident of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023, surrounded by family after a quick battle with cancer.

Richard was born in Oswego, NY on November 9, 1957. Rick worked at Pelletier and Sons and Plastican most of his life. He was an avid sports fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He also enjoyed playing softball and darts.

Rick is survived by his two children; son Joshua Smith of Lunenburg, MA, daughter Andrea Smith of Raleigh, NC and granddaughter Dezirae Napier of Raleigh, NC. He was predeceased by his parents; Leonard Smith Sr. and Louise Ella (Elberle) Smith, sisters Dorothy Smith and Lorraine Dingman. He leaves behind his sister Marlene (Smith) Santonoceto, and many nieces and nephews. He is also remembered by his friend and mother of his children, Jeannie Gaudet.

The family wanted to send a special thank you to all of those who took great care of Rick over the last few years. At Rick’s request, there will be a private family service.
