Richard A Anderson

Richard "Dick" A. Anderson, of Fitchburg, left this earth on August 8, 2024. 

He was born on October 8, 1935, in Lunenburg, MA a son of the late Gunnar and Grace Anderson. Richard graduated from St. Bernard's High School and attended Monty Tech Vocational School, He finished his career working for the Fitchburg Sentinel and Enterprise. Richard was a longtime member of the Friends of Coggshall, Fitchburg Ski Club, and served in the National Guard. He had a love of classic cars, skiing, gardening, and could talk to anyone about anything. He cherished his family most of all. 

He leaves his daughter, Maria Alatalo, and her husband Tom; grandchildren Grace and Gunnar Alatalo. Richard is predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Francine, and his brother John Anderson. 

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420. His funeral will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. His burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Off Boutelle Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter, 320 Nevada St. Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
