The funeral will be held Friday, July 22, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anna’s Church, 194 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, July 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
LEOMINSTER – Rena (Piermarini) DiNatale, 91, of 104 Lincoln Terrace, peacefully passed away on Friday, July 15, at the Golden Living Center in Fitchburg. She was born in Leominster on September 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Louis and Angela (Valeri) Piermarini, and was a lifelong resident on the Terrace.
Rena’s devoted husband, John A. DiNatale, predeceased her in November of 2003. She leaves two sons, John J. DiNatale and his wife Sandra of Turlock, California, and Mayor Stephen L. DiNatale and his wife Joanne of Fitchburg. She also leaves four grandchildren: City Councilor Marcus L. DiNatale and his wife Sara of Fitchburg, Alexandra (DiNatale) Cardinale and her husband Michael of Leominster, Laurie DiNatale, and Elisa Beane and her husband Aaron, both of California. Rena also leaves three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Lastly, Rena leaves her sister and best friend Eda (Piermarini) Tocci of Leominster, her brother Nunzio “Nick” Piermarini and his wife Grace of Illinois, and her sister-in-law Connie Grimley and her husband James of Leominster. She was predeceased by two siblings: sister, Santina (Piermarini) Piccolomini and brother, Jesse Piermarini, both of Leominster.
Rena was employed at Foster Grant for many years as an assembly line worker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a member of St. Anna’s Church in Leominster and a devout Catholic. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and spending time with and providing for her family. Her door was always open to family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Her family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor at the Golden Living Center for the care and compassion given to Rena during her stay.
