Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Tuesday, November 28 from 4-8 pm. Peter’s funeral will be celebrated in the New Life Church, 834 Main St., Leominster on Wednesday, November 29 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
Centerville – Peter G. Beaulieu, 74, of Centerville, formerly of Leominster, passed away in Cape Cod Hospital on November 19.
Peter was born in Westfield, MA on May 19, 1943, a son of the late George P. and Ruth Beaulieu. He was a graduate of Leominster High School and attended Colgate University. He received his Bachelors of Science in Math and Education from Fitchburg State, and then earned his Master’s Degree in Administration.
Peter was an Educator and Head Football Coach for the Leominster and Wachusett Regional School Systems. He was inducted into the Leominster Football Hall of Fame. For over ten years, Peter served on the Leominster City Council. Before his move to the Cape, Peter was a lifelong resident of Leominster, who served on the School Committee, and was the Community Development Block Grant Director. He was also the City’s Affirmative Action and Fair Housing Officer during that time.
For the last 40 years, Peter has worked very hard as self-employed business owner.
He loved spending time at the beach and walking his beloved dog Bonnie through the woods and trails. He was an avid football fan, especially college ball. Peter loved to travel and spend time with his family. He was a wonderful grandfather, who always took interest in his grandchildren’s events. He was a warm and loving man who always treated everyone as family. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves his wife Lisa (Emery) Beaulieu of Centerville; children, Skeeter Beaulieu of TN, Lilarni Beaulieu of Leominster, Lacee Beaulieu of CA, Ladene Jahner and her husband Brent of Sterling; step children, Olivia Dougherty, Reed Dougherty, both of Cape Cod, Grace Dougherty of CA, and Tori Dougherty of MD; grandchildren, Dylan, Jairus, Sapphira, Leela, and Teddy; brothers, Lary Beaulieu and wife Melanie of FL and Jack Beaulieu and wife Jackie of Leominster; many nieces and nephews.
Peter was predeceased by his first wife Leela (Petricca) Beaulieu, his brother Jim Beaulieu, and sister Sally Unsworth.
