Calling hours will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg on Wednesday, May 25, from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. with a brief memorial service immediately following.

Ashburnham – Peter E. Oksanen, 49, of Ashburnham, passed away suddenly in his home on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
Peter was born in Fitchburg on December 28, 1966, a son of William and Patricia (Sykes) Oksanen. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1984 and promptly went to work at Micro Tool Inc. in Ashby, MA, the family business. The business was later sold, and Peter joined J. C. Madigan in Lancaster, where he became an accomplished metal fabricator.
Peter enjoyed New England sports of all kind, particularly the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He also liked skiing, fishing, and golfing. Most of all, Pete loved his home on Billy Ward Pond and his group of friends, young and old, who would visit to swim, barbecue, sail or sauna. He was known for his generous, welcoming nature and lively sense of humor.
He leaves his parents, William and Patricia (Sykes) Oksanen of Fitchburg; brother, Thomas Oksanen and wife Patricia of Sudbury; sisters, Ann Wilkins and husband Robert of Peterborough, NH, and Elizabeth Sullivan and companion Gary Labell of Princeton; an uncle, Michael Sykes of Fitchburg; an aunt, Charlotte Sykes of Toronto; nephews Jared and Adam Rumley of Fitchburg; and nieces Alyssa Sullivan of Princeton, Kara (Sullivan) Keating and her husband Kevin of Atlanta, GA, and Lily and Abigail Oksanen of Sudbury.
