Peggy L. Montesion Foster

The funeral Mass will be held in Saint Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg on Monday, August 21, at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery in Fitchburg. Calling hours are from 4-6 pm in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Sunday, August 20.
OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Peggy L. (Foster) Montesion, 86, of Fitchburg, passed away on August 16, 2017 in her residence.
Peggy was born in Lunenburg on January 14, 1931, a daughter of the late Alfred and Violet (Chartrand) Foster. She was an avid fisherman, gardener, reader, and loved the outdoors. Peggy was crowned Miss Apple Blossom in Lunenburg, MA in 1949. She was an accomplished hair stylist for many years and owned the Driftwood Beauty Salon in Fitchburg.
She is survived by her three daughters, Marcia Aubin and her husband Roger of Sterling, Roberta Buratti-Aikey of Leominster, and Cheryl Shea and her husband Brian of Russell, MA; one step daughter, Susan (Montesion) Bunish of Lunenburg; 9 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and one step great grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband Anthony “Monty” N. Montesion, her son Louis “Butch” Buratti, Jr., and her step daughter, Gail (Montesion) DelGiudice.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Teen Challenge New England, 1315 Main Street Brocton, MA 02301.
