A memorial service will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Tuesday, April 7, at 2:00 pm. There are no calling hours and burial will be held privately at a later date.
Paul R. Gagne, Jr., 60, passed away at home in Ashburnham on April 3, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Paul is survived by his longtime companion Linda Fudesco. Other beloved survivors include his daughter Christine Doody of Ashby, his stepdaughter Tina Scarborough of Rindge and her mother Maribeth Conrad of New Ipswich, his grandsons Cameron and Carson Doody, his four sisters and a brother.
Paul was born on June 1, 1954 in Fitchburg, the son of Paul R. Gagne, Sr. and Annette M. (Leger) Gagne. He attended schools in Ashby and Fitchburg, and according to Paul, began work in the glass business when he was only 15 years old. After mastering the trade of glazier, he went on to become the founder and president of Paul’s Plate Glass of Fitchburg. His company’s quality work can be witnesses at many area businesses, colleges, schools, government, and other buildings.
Paul enjoyed an active life including boating and cross country snowmobiling. He also enjoyed traveling with his companion and friends. Paul’s love of life including many down to earth pleasures such as breakfasting at nearly every local restaurant, and attending meat raffles held by various organizations. He enjoyed his lakefront home, which was a perfect site for him and his family to enjoy the changing seasons.
