Leominster – Paul O. LaCross, 88, of Leominster, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, in UMass Medical Center,

Paul was born in Barton, VT, a son of the late Leon and Cecile (Lemieux) LaCross. He graduated from Leominster High School and enlisted in the US Army, where he proudly served his country during the Korean War.

Paul worked for Stop&Shop for over 30 years, until his retirement. Always a true Vermonter in his heart, he thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to family vacations to Lake Willoughby, and reminiscing about his family’s farm in Westmore, which is still in operation. Paul loved to go fishing, especially when he was able to share this time with his grandchildren.

Paul was a loving father to his three daughters. Summers were spent at Hampton Beach and Plum Island where he would enjoy bouncing his young girls in the ocean waves. He spent winters showing them how to tap the maple tree in the back yard and make syrup, something he did as a child in Vermont.

Paul loved to take his family bowling and was often in a league with his wife Clara.  He was an avid Red Sox fan and was seldom seen without his Sox jacket and hat.

He leaves his three daughters, Suzanne LaCross and her husband Marco of WA, Patti LaCross of Sterling, and Mary Beth Barrett and her husband Glen of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Curtis Barrett, Robert Barrett and his wife Kaitlyn, Glen Michael and Paul Marshall Barrett, Audrey, Olivia, and Nathan Wen; several nieces and nephews.

Paul was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Clara (Rossetti) LaCross in 2016, as well as his five brothers, Maurice, Ernest, Roger, Robert, and Roland LaCross.
