Paul W. Ghilardi, affectionately known by many as PaPa, was born on August 31, 1942, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. His life was a testament to the virtues of compassion, generosity, humility, and love. He was a man who found joy in the simple things in life, shared his wisdom generously, and extended his caring nature to all those around him. Paul, a beloved son, brother, father, Grampy, and friend, passed away on June 14, 2024.
Paul spent 55 years working as a devoted mason, demonstrating his dedication and skill in his craft. His generous spirit was evident in his volunteer work at the senior center and the YMCA. He was a great storyteller who loved to share tales and wisdom from his life experiences. His hobbies, which included attending Patriots' games, traveling to Italy with Flo, journeying to Jamaica with Barbara, and taking trips to Maine, were a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for life. He was also an animal lover who cherished his companionship with his dogs, cats, bunny, and pigeon.
Paul is survived by his children, Peter Ghilardi, Michael Ghilardi, Lisa Ghilardi, and Rebecca Cuddahy, his sisters Mary Selinga, Carol Casson, Gena Powell, and Susan Ghilardi, and his eight grandchildren, Michael, Ashlyn, Ryan, Kyle Lucas Macy, Jamie, and Dean. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geno and Mary Ghilardi, and his brother Peter Ghilardi.
A visitation will be held in Paul's honor on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 10:00am at the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, 01420. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00am at the same location. Burial will take place at 12:15pm at St Bernard's Cemetery, 96 Goodrich Street, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, 01420.
