Patrick E O'Malley

September 10, 1941 — March 6, 2025

Lunenburg, MA

Patrick E. O'Malley, born on the 10th of September, 1941 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, enriched the lives of countless individuals with his wisdom, patience, and love of learning. He graduated from Fitchburg State College in 1963 with a Masters in Education. Patrick's life was one of service, both to his students as a dedicated Math teacher and department head and to his local community as an active member of the Our Lady of the Lake Church. His nurturing spirit, combined with his passion for education, made a lasting impact on the Middlesex Regional School District where he served for 39 years. But it was not just in the classroom that Patrick shone; his love for learning spilled over into his personal life, leading him to explore the world through camping, playing bridge, and his involvement with the North American Family Campers Association (NAFCA).

Patrick's zest for life was not confined to his professional endeavors. He was a man of many talents and interests. An ardent camping enthusiast, he found joy and tranquility in the serenity of nature, particularly at Squa No Cook. His leadership skills were evident as he served as the President of the NAFCA and the editor of the Campfire Chatter. An avid sports enthusiast, Patrick also volunteered his time as an Assistant Basketball Coach, where he nurtured the athletic talents of young individuals. The depth of his character and his multifaceted nature made him a beloved figure in his community and beyond.

As we remember Patrick, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life that touched and shaped many others. He is survived by his loving son, Kevin O'Malley, and his nephew, Brendan O'Malley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Callistus and Katherine O'Malley, his son, Shawn O'Malley, and his beloved wife, Mary O'Malley.
