Patricia A. Friend, lovingly known as "Miss Pat" by those who held her dear, passed away on January 17, 2025. Born on February 17, 1953, in Ayer, Massachusetts, Patricia's life was characterized by her compassionate spirit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to family.
Growing up in Groton, Massachusetts, Patricia carried values of unity and kinship throughout her life, creating a loving atmosphere wherever she went. She was a supportive wife to her husband, Terry Friend, for 53 years, and a devoted mother to her children, Timothy and Julie. Patricia's love was also extended to Timothy's fiancé, Ashley Furmanick, and beloved sister, Barbra Belote and her husband Charles Belote of Yorktown Va. Patricia also leaves behind her brother in-law Allen Wesley of Fitchburg. She was a beacon of love, always fostering warm relationships and a sense of belonging. As Robert Brault once said, "In the end, we remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." Patricia was never silent, always there to share a kind word or lend a supportive hand.
Patricia was a dedicated employee at Burbank Child Development Center (BCDC) for over 25 years. As a cook, she nourished not just the bodies, but also the hearts of those she served. Patricia also worked at Raytheon and Rogers Department store. Patricia was known for her infectious laughter and empathetic nature. Patricia's summers were often spent at Camp Wellville in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, where she found joy and peace. In her quiet moments, Patricia enjoyed watching movies and catching up with friends over the phone.
Preceded in death by her parents, William and Beatrice Canada, and her siblings, Marie Wesley (Canada) and William Canada Jr., Patricia's spirit will continue to live on through her loved ones. She was a person who got along with everybody, creating lasting connections and memories. Her legacy of love, generosity, and support will forever be cherished and kept alive by those who knew her.
