OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Pamela J. (Cunningham) Smith, 71, passed away peacefully in the Golden Living Center on June 21, 2018.
Pamela was born in Fitchburg on February 12, 1947, a daughter of the late Paul Cunningham, Sr. and Yvonne (Roy) Cunningham. She graduated from Saint Bernard’s Catholic High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Fitchburg State University in Nursing. Pamela spent her career working as a registered nurse for several hospitals, most recently at the Westborough State Hospital. Nursing was her passion; she was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, and grandmother.
Time spent with her family, especially her grandsons, was most important to her. In her spare time, she could often be found completing crossword puzzles.
Pamela is survived by her husband of 26 years, Stephen Smith of Fitchburg; two daughters, Becky Cochran and husband Steven of Leominster and Kimberly Flis of Fitchburg; grandsons, Patrick Cochran, John Flis, and Aidan Cochran; her sister Karen Cunningham of Fitchburg; niece Kelly Joyce and husband Frank of Fitchburg, and two sisters-in-law, Kathy Boisvert and Stephanie Alm-Smith.
She was predeceased by her brother Paul Cunningham, Jr.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road Waltham, MA 02452.
