The funeral will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Thursday, July 16 at 11:00 am. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11 am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery.
OBITUARY
Leominster – Palma M. (DiGregorio) Cornetta, 93, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on July 9, in the Vibra Hospital in Leicester.
Palma was born in Fitchburg on June 4, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Siciliano) DiGregorio. She graduated from Fitchburg High School, and as a young lady she was very athletic. She was a talented pitcher in softball, having been the winning pitcher in the championship game. She loved roller skating, bowling, and horseback riding. Always active, Palma also participated in target shooting.
She loved to listen to Polka music, and could often be found dancing. Her love of family was always expressed in her cooking and baking. Her happiest of times were those spent surrounded by family.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Robert Cornetta of Leominster, Sheila Baker and her husband Patrick of Leominster; grandchildren, Ryan Baker and his wife Katie, and Heather Baker; great grandchildren, Daniel and Hannah Baker; nieces and nephews.
Palma was predeceased by her husband of 68 years Eugene Cornetta in May of this year, two brothers Rocco and Samuel DiGregorio and a sister, Mary Dantini.
