The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg with a Mass in Saint Anthony di Padua Church on Saturday, November 26 at 10am. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm in the funeral home on Friday, November 25.In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the MLA Foundation, 100 Hospital Rd., suite 2A Leominster, MA 01453.
OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Olga Elizabeth (Howe) Julius, 77, died on November 19, at Leominster Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Olga was the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Vegari) Howe, Sr. She was born in Fitchburg and had lived here all her life. Olga attended Fitchburg High School and worked at Rockdale’s in Leominster. She also worked for many years as a Teacher’s Aide at Saint Anthony’s Elementary School and several other elementary schools in Fitchburg. Olga was a certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Leominster Hospital for 20 years, before retiring as an Operating Room Technician. She went on to work as a Personal Care Attendant for Ms. Louise Doyle for 7 years. Olga was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years.
Olga enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren, vacationing all over New England each summer. She and her husband Jim enjoyed many trips to Aruba, Florida, and Caribbean cruises. She enjoyed her weekly gathering with her “sewing circle girls”. She always looked forward to “Olga’s Labor Day” gathering at ‘Olga’s Hut’ with family and friends each year.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, James M. Julius, Sr. of Fitchburg; children, James Julius, Jr., and his wife Joyce of Fitchburg, Robert Julius and wife Lori of Sterling, Elizabeth Adams and husband James of Leominster; grandchildren, Kristina Sanders(husband Michael), Nicole Galloway( husband Matthew), Peter Adams, Mary Elizabeth Adams, Rachel Adams, Grace Adams, Benjamin Julius (companion Kaitlyn Smith), Nicholas Julius, Carly Mae Julius; two great granddaughters Eily Sanders and Avery Mae Julius; She also leaves her siblings: Stanley P. Howe, Jr. and wife Nancy, Domenic Howe and wife Ann, and Virginia Gaudet; sisters in law, Patricia Yacobucci and husband Howard, and Margaret Howe. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Olga was predeceased by her brother Ralph Howe and her nephew Ralph Howe, Jr.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Leominster Hospital for the professional and compassionate care they gave to Olga.
