Norma A. Gagnon (Favini) a lifelong resident of Fitchburg, Mass was surrounded by family when she passed away on June 22, 2018 at UMASS Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health. She was 78 years old.
Norma was the daughter of the late Alfred and Yolanda Favini. She graduated from St. Bernard’s Central High School in 1957 where she met Guy Gagnon, her beloved husband of 58 years. Norma was a loving mother and homemaker, she held various office positions over the years, but largely dedicated her life to raising her family. She raised her children in Fitchburg and she took great pride in their many successes, especially her six grandchildren with whom she loved to spend time. Norma was talented; she loved to knit the most intricate of sweaters and blankets for her family, beautiful gifts made with love, which they will forever cherish. She was also an amazing cook, she enjoyed preparing large meals for family especially on Thanksgiving, when years ago her young family was joined by her brother and in-laws, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and her house was filled with love and laughter. Most of all, Norma cherished spending quality time with her husband Guy. Through the years, they traveled together and explored many places. The beaches of Bermuda and Cape Cod are her favorite.
Her husband Guy Gagnon of Fitchburg lovingly survives Norma, along with her four children Pamela Gagnon of Dallas, TX, Thomas Gagnon and his wife Erin of Downingtown, PA, Amy Sullivan and her husband Patrick of Charlestown, MA and Steven Gagnon and his wife Jennifer of Tampa, FL. She was a proud and loving Nana to Sydney, Hutch, Zackary, Michael, Lauren and Patrick. She was also the sister of the late Alfred Favini and the sister-in-law of the late Jeanne Favini.
