RAY — The Funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Monday, February 20, with a Mass at St. Anthony’s church at 11:00 am. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, February 19, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.Nancy’s deceased nephew, Craig Madigan was her hero. After his passing, a local charity was set up in his name. Nancy Badagliacca Ray, 59, of Bedford, Texas passed away Saturday, January 21, at home after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Nancy was born in Leominster, MA on November 22, 1957, a daughter of Lawrence “Carpo” and Eileen “Dee” (Shields) Badagliacca.
Nancy graduated from Fitchburg High in 1975 and Fitchburg State in 1979. She was a teacher of special needs children for over 30 years in Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Texas.
She loved watching musicals, reading Stephen King, cooking, collecting keepsakes from everywhere, but most of all she loved spending time with and photographing all of her family and friends.
Nancy leaves her husband of 31 wonderful years, Randy Ray of Bedford, Texas, her mother, Eileen “Dee” Badagliacca of Fitchburg, her sisters, Joanne and husband Dave Madigan of Fitchburg, and Marylou Badagliacca and fiancé Tom Gaudet of Fitchburg. She is also survived by her brother, James Badagliacca and wife Teresa of Fitchburg.
She also leaves seven nephews and three nieces, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, all whom she loved dearly.
Nancy was predeceased her father, Lawrence “Carpo” Badagliacca and her nephew, Craig Madigan.
