Nancy P. Keane, 91, of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on January 10, 2025.
She was born in Lancaster, MA in 1933 to parents James and Helen Blanchflower, where she was the youngest of seven and a graduate of Lancaster High School.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Patrick “Joe” Keane, and her cherished son Kevin P. Keane. Nancy was a loving and devoted mother to her children Margaret (Margie) West and her husband Matthew West of Westerly, RI; Brian Keane and his wife Lorna of Tempe, Arizona; and Timothy Keane and his wife Kristen of Medfield, MA. She is the proud grandmother of Sarah (Morin) Loughlean, Chris Morin, Sean Morin, Caitlin (Morin) Serra, Ellen Keane, Matthew Keane, Katherine Keane, Liam Keane, TJ Keane and Emma Keane. She is also a great grandmother of eight.
She was known for her vibrant personality, fashion sense, her love of gardening and flowers, and her exceptional talent for turning a house into a home. She loved blueberry picking and everyone else loved the pies and muffins that followed. Nancy cherished hosting gatherings for family and friends and did so with great ease.
Professionally, Nancy served as the Executive Assistant to Worcester County Sheriff Mike Flynn, where she worked until her retirement. Nancy was fiercely loyal to her friends and family. Her strength and independence serve as a role model for her children and grandchildren alike. She never missed her children’s school or sporting events and even in her later years would often travel to watch her grandchildren compete as well. Nancy will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends, extended family and all who know her.
