Nancy A. Maynard

Nancy A. Maynard (DeLisle), age 84, a resident of Fitchburg, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth B. Maynard.

Nancy was born in Fitchburg, MA, on August 1, 1938 to the late Raymond and Desneiges (Belanger) Delisle. Nancy graduated from Fitchburg High school after successfully completing a business curriculum.

Nancy was well known for her hard work and dedication to Fitchburg. Over many years Nancy served in the capacities of Office Manager, Executive Secretary and Administrative Assistant. She also served on numerous committees and boards including Massachusetts Association for Membership Development, Fitchburg’s Democratic Committee, Citizen’s Participation for Urban Renewal Nashua Rive Watershed Association, the United Way Community Investment Division and Fitchburg Historical Society to name a few. Nancy went on to be the chair or founder of the following The Fund Raising and Publicity for the Fitchburg Babe Ruth, Public Safety Task Force for Fitchburg by Design, Fitchburg College Neighborhood Association, Public Relations Committee for the College Neighborhood Associated and was selected a Judge for the Float Committee of Fitchburg’s Fourth of July Parade in 1999. She was then appointed Board Member of the Fitchburg Housing Authority from 1977-1981 and was the recipient of the 2000 Women of Distinction award sponsored by the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce Executive Women’s Network.

Nancy loved spending time with her family and friends, as well enjoyed going for long rides in the country

Nancy is predeceased by her husband Kenneth Maynard, her parents Raymond and Desneiges (Belanger) DeLisle, and her son Scott Maynard. She is survived by her children Keith Maynard and his wife Elizabeth of Fitchburg, MA, daughter Kristine Zyczkiewicz and her husband Richard of Mebane, North Carolina, daughter in law Diane Maynard of Fitchburg, MA, and her very dear friend and companion, Sam Rizzo of Fitchburg, MA.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Nancy for a graveside service on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the St Bernards Cemetery, 96 Goodrich St, Fitchburg, MA 01420 at 10:00 AM.
