It is with a smirk and a fond chuckle that we remember our beloved Michael J. McGinnis, who, as he often joked, "checked out while still on top." Born in Leominster, MA on June 15, 1952, Michael was a funny man who had the uncanny ability to find humor in even the most mundane situations. Smart as a whip, he could solve a Rubik's cube faster than you could say "auto repair," a skill that served him well in his career as an Auto Body Technician. Michael passed on October 12, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love.
Loyal to a fault, Michael was always there for those he loved, whether it was helping to fix a friend's car or just lending an ear when needed. His charismatic personality was as infectious as his humor, making him a magnet for friends and a beloved figure in his Rock Hill, South Carolina community. He spent his retirement years tinkering in his garage, cracking jokes, and relishing his role as the family's unofficial "funny guy." Michael's love for his family was as evident as his sense of humor, as he leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa McGinnis, and his sons, Ben McGinnis and Mike McGinnis and daughters Heather Corey, Karina McGinnis, and Jasmine Barry.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Martin McGinnis and mother Rita McGinnis Brother John McGinnis and sisters Patricia McGinnis and Mary Burchstead.
In lieu of tears, Michael would prefer a good joke or a funny story. To share your favorite memories or hilarious moments with Michael, please visit his memorial page at www.brandonfuneral.com. As they say, laughter is the best medicine, so let's remember Michael in the way he would have wanted - with a hearty laugh and a joyous heart.
True to his nature, we're sure Michael would want us to celebrate his life rather than mourn his departure. So, let's honor him in a style he would appreciate.
