Michael J. Hjelm, 80 years old of Ashby died December 29, 2022 at home. He was born on July 22, 1942 to Osmo and Elvi (Keurulainen) Hjelm in Fitchburg MA.
Mike graduated from Ashby High School 1960, Mike worked many years for Advance Coatings in Westminster and eventually started an excavating business with his brother Jeff.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlotte, son Erik Hjelm (Melissa), of Nashua NH, daughter Lisa Hjelm (Jim Boardman) of Ashby, a sister Linda Williams (William), of Ashby, brother Jeffrey Hjelm of Ashby, four grandchildren: Cody Hjelm, Krystal Hjelm, Wyatt Guptill, Michael Boardman, nieces and nephews: Evan Williams, Keenan Williams, and Alexis Williams. And many cousins.
Mike was an avid Red Sox fan, and marched in the 1976 Minuteman Militia from Ashby to Concord MA.
