At Mr. Ferrara’s request there will be no calling hours and the burial will be at the family plot in Lawrence, Ma. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is directing arrangements.

OBITUARY
Fitchburg – Michael Ferrara, former owner of Espresso Pizza and Eatery in Fitchburg, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016, following a long illness.
Michael was born in Lawrence, Ma. on July 22, 1940. He was the youngest son of Frank and Michelina (Fusco) Ferrara, and was predeceased by his brother Maurice.
Mike, as his friends knew him, grew up in Methuen and graduated from Tenny High School in 1958. He was musically gifted, playing both clarinet and alto saxophone in the high school band and later in the Coast Guard.
After school and an honorable discharge from the Coast Guard, Michael enjoyed body building, wrestling, and boxing, spending most of his time at the YMCA. Mike also enjoyed spending time at the track and loved going to Vegas, taking his parents there often.
In 1965 Michael bought Espresso Pizza on Main Street in Fitchburg. He committed himself to his restaurant, running it with a stern hand until his retirement, and even then, he was a fixture in the store; greeting his customers anytime they would come in.
Michael is survived by his former wife Lynda Ferrara; his daughter, Lisa Caron and her husband Kevin and their children, Destinee, Scott, Ricky, Mikey, Sahara, and Melody; his daughter Lauren Ferrara and her daughter, Mia and Ayla; his lifelong friend and caretaker Susan Lagrasse and her boyfriend Joe Santoro. Other close family members include his favorite sister-in-law, Ann Ferrara, nephew Frank Ferrara, and nieces, Marylou Babola and Marissa Galinsky, and Julie Angelo and their families. Many in laws and nieces and nephews from Lynda’s side will also miss him dearly.
There were also many involved in his care that the family would like to thank. Berta Genao, who was a Godsend to him and always showed him love in his final days. Juan (Caesar) Reinoso and his family, and thanks to the crew at Espresso Pizza for always agreeing to his many requests.
