It is with deep sorrow that we share the sudden passing of Michael Gerard Albert of Lunenburg, Massachusetts. Michael passed away at home on January 1, 2025, at the age of 45. Michael was born in Leominster, MA on May 7, 1979.
Michael grew up in Leominster and Lunenburg and attended St. Bernard’s Catholic High School. Shortly after high school, Michael started Mike’s Container Service. Always an entrepreneurial leader, his business success continued when, in 2015, he established Premier Basement Waterproofing. Michael became a legend on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with his famous slogan, “IT’S GAME OVER FOR WATER!” Among his family, employees, thousands of clients, and sports radio listeners Michael was known as the waterproofing guru throughout New England. His children especially benefited from his vision and business savvy and are equipped to carry on his legacy.
Michael believed in living life fully; in everything he did, he never held back, whether at work or play, or in expressing his deeply held beliefs, including his love of country and strong political views. He was vocal and unabashed in his support of those who serve our country, especially active and veteran military. As a man of great passion, Michael’s presence brightened every room and his laughter, which could fill any space, will be greatly missed. Most who knew him had at least one “Mike story” that had them laughing hysterically. Most importantly he was also known by many as a friend who shared generously of both his financial success and his earned emotional support. Where and when help was needed, Michael gave.
While Michael’s life ended too soon, his vibrant spirit, unrelenting drive, and passion for life will continue to echo in the hearts of those who love him. He leaves behind his loving family and a host of friends who will forever cherish his memory, and a world that is a little brighter for having had him in it.
Michael is survived by his loving parents; Gerard and Karen Albert of Harwich, MA; his beloved children, Logan Saranovitz, Noah Albert and Grace Albert of Lunenburg, MA; his sister, Marybeth Roberts and her husband, Sean Roberts of Lunenburg, MA; his niece and nephew, Makenzie and Evan Roberts; his dogs, Tank and Delta “Girly”; a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins; many friends and his PBW crew.
