Michael A. Quinn, 73, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2022 in UMass Medical Center.
Michael was born in Fitchburg on March 13, 1949, a son of the late Andrew Quinn and Rita (Desrosier) Quinn Piermarocchi. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1967 and shortly after joined the Fitchburg Police Department, where he proudly served as a Patrolman for 18 years until his retirement.
In his spare time, he loved working on cars and was well known for his ability to fix anything. If it had an engine-he could fix it; which he often did for anyone who needed help. He proudly spent the majority of time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed coaching Fitchburg little league baseball and Fitchburg Pop Warner football for many years while his children were young. Michael was a talented hockey player who played on the Fitchburg Police Association against the Fitchburg Fire Fighter Association for charity.
Michael is survived by his sister Sheila Quinn of Nashua, NH; his six children, Andrew Quinn and Amanda Calabrese of Windham, NH, Jason Quinn of Fitchburg, Jennifer Quinn and Jose Cruz of Fitchburg, Lauren Quinn of Fitchburg, Brandon Quinn of Fitchburg and Bryant Quinn of Fitchburg; nine grandchildren, Dominic, Jayson, Lucy, Joseph, Riley, Zacchaeus, Avalyn, Zavien, and Gianna; and longtime friend, Glenn Fossa.
He was predeceased by his son Kevin Quinn and his sister Maureen “Mopey” Quinn Higgins.
